Admission: prior experience is not required and major gear is provided.

Our camp is best suited for physically active kids, who play by the rules and are committed to spending time away from home in an all outdoor setting. Prior experience is not required for enrollment. We encourage boys and girls of good character to attend. Our camp is not appropriate for children who do not actively want to attend an outdoor adventure program. Your child must be fully informed of the nature of our program and included in the decision to attend. Acceptance of the camper is contingent on your accepting all of Camp Terms and our receipt and approval of all forms, including the medical form.

Registration

register online at our website

Although there is no final deadline for accepting applications, we encourage early application, as space is limited per group. We completely fill almost every summer.

Deposit and Final Payment

To reserve a space in the program, we require a deposit of $200 for 7 day programs and $300 for the 14 day and 18 day programs. We cannot hold spaces without receiving payment. The deposit is applied toward the full tuition. Final payment is due March 1st for all sessions.  A $50 late fee will be charged for each child if payment is not postmarked by March 1st.  A processing fee of $35 will be charged for returned checks.  Applications received after March 1st must be accompanied by full payment and a portion is your deposit in case of cancellation. MAG accepts personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Tuition Includes:

Tuition includes round-trip transportation from the Asheville airport to Base Camp, all major equipment, food and instruction costs. Tuition does not include $35 per week recommended pocket money, minor gear (i.e. headlamp, sleeping bag, etc.) personal clothing and footwear, a physical exam by your physician, transportation to or from camp (we do shuttle from the Asheville, NC airport – no charge), or medical expenses beyond basic first aid, such as emergency room or urgent care fees, doctor's examinations, x-rays, clinical tests, prescriptions, or emergency medical transportation. What to Bring

Confirmation of Receipt; Registration Forms

We will send an e-mail confirming receipt of the application, and you can immediately download and print out our registration package (including transportation information, what to bring, a medical form, and other information). If you apply by mail, phone, or fax, we will email a letter confirming receipt of the application, along with our registration package link.

Blue Ridge Expedition II camper at Sliding Rock in Pisgah National Forest.Forms must be returned to us at least 45 days prior to the starting date to continue to hold your space (or within two weeks after receiving the registration package if you applied within the 45 day period). A $25 administrative fee will be assessed if all forms are not received within 2 weeks of the session start date. The medical form must be completely filled out and signed by a physician and parent/guardian certifying that the applicant is in good physical and mental condition. We recommend you make an appointment for a physical exam as soon as possible if the applicant has not had one within a year prior to the session date; your tuition will be forfeited if we have not received the medical form prior to our deadline and are subsequently unable to accept the camper due to medical or behavioral issues. Please speak with a Director if your child has behavioral or medical issues that might affect final approval of your application.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations must be confirmed in writing. Our cancellation policy is based on our investment in food and equipment purchases, program planning, and staff training. Due to our small group size, many sessions fill early. Cancellation on short notice often prevents others from attending, and we may be unable to recover our expenses. Because of the financial consequences of canceling within 30 days of a session, we strongly recommend you purchase refundable airline tickets and travel insurance, which will reimburse you for cancellation under certain circumstances (e.g., medical reasons, family illness, etc).  We strongly encourage you to purchase camp interruption insurance to protect your tuition investment. Tuition will be refunded for cancellations according to the following schedule:

Prior to March 1 .............................…………………... Full refund, less a $50 processing fee

Between March 1 and 45 days prior to the session ...… Refund of all tuition, less the deposit

Within 45 days .......................................................…. No refund

If a cancellation within 45 days of the session is due to a non-preexisting illness or injury (documented by the attending physician), we will apply all amounts with-held to future tuition (less a $50 processing fee and any amounts already committed to an outfitter for a contracted activity). There will be no refund or rebate for late arrival, early withdrawal for any reason or dismissal for cause. No refund will be given if a participant is sent home for behavioral issues or otherwise violating our Participation Agreement, or if a participant voluntarily withdraws for whatever reason. We reserve the right to cancel sessions or change schedules due to unforeseen circumstances. Certain trips require a minimum number of participants. In the rare event that we must cancel a session prior to the starting date, we will refund all amounts paid.  Our liability is limited solely to your tuition paid.

We encourage you to purchase camp interruption insurance to protect your tuition investment.
