Trips start on time rain or shine. 

The USA Raft Watauga River meeting spot is located off of Industrial Drive, directly behind the "Road Runner" BP Service Station accross from the Elizabethton Airport. From 321 in Elizabethton, take the "Stony Creek" exit to 91 North. Go 1.5 miles on 91 North and after passing Northeast State College on right turn right onto Industrial Drive before passing the BP station. The outpost is on the left behind BP. It is approximately a 1 hour drive from Boone, NC and 15 minute drive from Elizabethton, TN, and up to 1.5 hours from Asheville, NC.

Please arrive at our outpost about 30 min. before your scheduled trip time ready to raft so wear shorts, t-shirts, bathing suit, and old tennis shoes or sandals with a heel strap - NO FLIP FLOPS PLEASE. We raft rain or shine..

Watauga River Meeting Spot:

From the North: (Johnson City, TN)

Merge onto I-26 E / US-19W E / US-23 S.

Merge onto US-321 N via EXIT 24 toward ELIZABETHTON / MILLIGAN COLLEGE. (8.6 miles). "Elizabethton Exit."

Turn Left across from the Food City Grocery and then take the "Stony Creek" Exit immediately on right onto 91 North.

Go 1.5 miles on 91 North and after passing Northeast State College on right turn right onto Industrial Drive before passing the BP station. The outpost is on the left behind BP.

From the Elizabethton, TN Area

Go 1.5 miles on 91 North and after passing Northeast State College on right turn right onto Industrial Drive before passing the BP station. The outpost is on the left behind BP.

From the Boone, NC Area
Turn RIGHT onto W KING ST / US-321 / US-421 / NC-194. Continue to follow US-321 / US-421. (6.3 miles).

Turn LEFT onto US-321 (Crossing into TENNESSEE). (23.7 miles). Turn LEFT onto US-321 / TN-67. (9.5 miles).

Turn RIGHT onto US-19E N / US-321 N / TN-37 N / TN-67 W / VETERANS MEMORIAL PKWY. (4.5 miles).

After passing the Elizabethton Chamber of Commerce and visitor center on right and the Food City Grocery on left take the "Stony Creek" Exit immediately on right onto 91 North.

Go 1.5 miles on 91 North and after passing Northeast State College on right turn right onto Industrial Drive before passing the BP station. The outpost is on the left behind BP.

From the South: (Asheville, NC or the Nolichucky River Outpost off I-26)Follow I 26 west towards Johnson City, TN. (55 min)

Take the US-321 / TN-67 exit- EXIT 24- toward ELIZABETHTON. This is the "Elizabethton Exit."

Turn RIGHT onto MILLIGAN HWY / US-321 N / TN-67 E. Continue to follow US-321 N. (8.3 miles).

Turn Left across from the Food City Grocery and then take the "Stony Creek" Exit immediately on right onto 91 North.

Go 1.5 miles on 91 North and after passing Northeast State College on right turn right onto Industrial Drive before passing the BP station. The outpost is on the left behind BP.
